Property on the market?

Do you want your house to sell?

When you put your house on the market there are many things you can do to ensure that it sells. The things are not difficult and should not cost an arm and a length to do.

These are the things that should be neat, tidy and/or in working order :

  1. The first thing is the street appearance. First impressions count.
  2. The pavement. If there are trees they should be well trimmed and in shape. Rubble on the pavement is a big no-no.
  3. The front wall. If it is painted it should be evenly painted without any spots.
  4. The ramp or driveway should not have any missing stones or blocks.
  5. Front wall lighting.
  6. The pedestrian entrance gate and motor gate.
  7. The front garden.
  8. The pathways on the stand.
  9. The flowerbeds.
  10. The outside walls.
  11. Face bricks.
  12. The roof and gutters. The water should flow without any stoppages.
  13. The patio/stoep.
  14. The front door and all inside doors should open without squeaks.
  15. The flooring inside.
  16. The interior walls.
  17. The kitchen cupboard doors.
  18. The stove.
  19. The oven.
  20. The ceiling fans.
  21. The back door.
  22. The bedrooms and cupboards.
  23. The bathrooms.
  24. Burglar bars and security gates.
  25. The alarm and outside beams.
  26. The outside Wendy house.

It must be a pleasure for the potential buyer to view the house from the first moment. As far as he/she walks in the property the views must have pleasant and smooth lines. The lighting must be bright and there should be enough of it in the house all over.

Ensure the odour in the house is pleasant for all. Even on the outside their should not be any nasty odours.

Clutter on the outside or inside gives a feeling of distress and should be removed. Walking through the house must a breeze for the potential buyer and wanting to live there.
